Jax - Clear

Considered one of the workhorses in the JMM lineup, the Jax has always been about versatility. But in Clear, released in 2018, the frame entered rarefied territory—joining the Zephirin, Sandro, and Dealan as part of a very small group of JMM frames ever produced in fully transparent acetate.

In this colorway, the absence of color strips the silhouette down to its purest form. The transparent acetate doesn’t just reveal the architecture of the frame—it also magnifies the details of the gold hardware, giving it a sense of depth and volume otherwise hidden in darker acetates.

Unknown to many, the Jax has seen two iterations and even a brief hiatus. Originally built with a narrower bridge, it was later refined to better suit medium to large faces, creating a more balanced and versatile fit.

The 2018 Clear release remains one of the most discreet yet striking Jax editions—a collector’s piece that shows how minimalism, when executed thoughtfully, can carry just as much presence as bold color.
